Box Score 2 VIENNA, W. Va. – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (13-5, 9-1 Great Midwest) dropped the final game, but took the series against the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots (4-18, 2-14 Great Midwest) with a 12-5 win and a 4-3 loss in 11 innings on Saturday.
The doubleheader followed a two-win performance by the Trojans against the Fighting Scots in a doubleheader on Friday, and the extra-inning loss in Saturday's second game handed the Trojans their first conference loss of the season.

Saturday's second game marked the 33rd meeting in the all-time series, and Trevecca holds a significant advantage with a 28-5 edge over the Fighting Scots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GM 1
John O'Dwyer got the scoring started for the Trojans in the top of the first, with a sacrifice fly that scored Ethan Harrison. Ohio Valley responded with two runs in the bottom of the second inning.
A big third inning stretched Trevecca's lead to 4-2, capped by a sacrifice fly by Shawn Woolwork that scored Bryant Goolsby. Kade Phillips' solo homer brought OVU back within one run to make it 4-3 in the bottom of the third, but the Trojans scored an unearned run with Jordan Jackson on a catcher error in the next half-inning. It was a 5-3 Trevecca lead, by the Fighting Scots would not go away. An RBI single by Phillips scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth to make it 5-5.
The Trevecca bats exploded in the fifth and sixth inning, however, starting with a solo home run by Braden Reece. RBI singles by Jackson and Braden Odom extended the Trevecca lead to 9-5 in the fifth inning. The Trojans really started to pull away in the top of the sixth. Jackson forced a walk with bases loaded that scored Reece, and a sacrifice fly by Harrison to right field scored Joseph McNamee. McNamee's RBI double in the top of the seventh scored John Anderson to put an exclamation point on the 12-5 win in game one.
GM 2
Trevecca took an early lead again in the opening inning in game two, with an RBI groundout by Goolsby that scored Odom. Ohio Valley tied it up with an RBI single in the bottom of the first, but took the lead in the fourth with two runs, including a walk with bases loaded that scored Reece Sabo.
O'Dwyer's RBI double in the bottom of the fifth scored Brian Lee to put the Trojans back within one, and Goolsby's second RBI of the game came on a single to score O'Dwyer to tie it up at 3-3 in the fifth.
The game lasted into 11 innings, and was won in walk-off fashion by the Fighting Scots in the bottom of the 11th with an RBI single by Mitchell Loar to score his brother Mason Lohr for the win.
STATS REPORT
GM 1
Braden Reece was 2-4 with two RBIs and a walk at the plate, and Jackson went 2-3 with two RBIs and a walk. John O'Dwyer also drove in a pair of runs with a walk on a 1-3 day.
Lee Cunningham picked up the win on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings, surrendering two earned runs, and striking out three batters, Brooks Helton also pitched 2.2 innings with three strikeouts.
GM 2
Odom, O'Dwyer, Goolsby, Lee, and Jackson all registered a hit in game two, although no Trojans had more than one hit. Goolsby picked up two RBIs. Tyler Koprowski picked up the loss on the mound, falling to 0-2 on the season after pitching 1.1 innings, giving up one earned run and striking out two batters.
Luis Rodriguez pitched four innings for Trevecca, and only surrended one earned run with one strikeout.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trevecca will remain on the road for a four-game series at Lake Erie beginning next Saturday, April 10.
The Trojans will return to Jackson Field in Nashville for a four-game slate against Tiffin with doubleheaders on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17.
