THE SERIES
It was the seventh all-time meeting between Trojans and Panthers, and Trevecca still holds the series advantage with three wins, two losses, and two draws.
THE MATCH
The majority of the first half possession belonged to Ohio Dominican, however the Panthers did not threaten Trevecca goalkeeper Delayna Holman very often. Both teams went to the bench early and often in the first half in search of a spark, but it remained scoreless at halftime.
Trevecca settled into the second half and was able to string together some quality chances despite trailing in total shots. Trevecca midfielder Makena Schlosser peppered Ohio Dominican goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney with two dangerous shots midway through the second half, including one that drifted over the outstretched hands of McNerney and deflected off the back post.
It was still 0-0 at the end of the 90-minute regulation, and both teams entered their second overtime game of the season. Trevecca forced a couple of corner kicks in the overtime periods, but neither side gave in and it remained a scoreless draw after the two 10-minute periods.
DETAILS
Trevecca goalkeeper Delayna Holman picked up the 17th clean sheet of her career – the third-best mark in program history in the NCAA era. Holman is one clean sheet away from tying Bekah Headrick for second with 18. Liz Denton holds the record with 22. Holman had five saves in the game.
The Panthers outshot the Trojans 18-13, but Trevecca directed five of its 13 shots on goal, while Ohio Dominican put six of its 18 shots on target.
