Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (4-2) lost a nail-biting 13-12 extra-inning game with Davenport University (5-5) on Saturday at Jackson Field.

The Davenport Panthers lead the all-time series 2-1 with the win and series victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport opened the scoring with a two-run top of the first when the first three batters reached base with no outs.
Trevecca responded with a three-run bottom of the inning, with their first three batters also reaching base. Braden Odom scored on a wild pitch for the first run. Trey Vanderpool drove in Chad Marsh with a fly-out. Zeke Lecomte scored on a Jordan Jackson single to center.
A solo home run in the top of the second for Davenport tied the game 3-3.
Trevecca pushed ahead 7-3 with a four-run third. The scoring started with another Jordan Jackson single, scoring Vanderpool. Joseph McNamee doubled to score David Milam and Jordan Jackson. Odom drove in MacNamee with a single.
Both teams score a pair of runs in their half of the fourth, settling the score at 9-5 until the sixth.
In the sixth, Davenport scored six runs for an 11-9 lead.
The Panthers lead held until the bottom of the ninth when the Trojans tied the score with a pair of runs. Chad Marsh had the big hit for the Trojans, driving in McNamee and Brandon Hauswald. Hauswald was pinch-running for Braden Reece who reached on a pinch-hit double.
The scoring continued in the tenth. Davenport regained the lead with a pair of runs in their half. Trevecca scored a run in the bottom and left the tying run on third.
STATS REPORT
Braden Odom, Trey Vanderpool, and Jordan Jackson each produced a three-hit game for the Trojans, each going 3-6 at the plate. Vanderpool scored two runs, added two doubles, a triple, and three RBI. Odom scored a run, had an RBI, stole a base, and had a hit in his first three at-bats. Jackson scored a run and produced two RBI.
Tyler Koprowski (0-1) took the loss as one of seven Trojan hurlers who appeared. Koprowski had a strikeout in his 1.1 innings of work.
WHAT'S NEXT
The two schools look to play a single nine-inning game on Saturday at 2 PM.
Trevecca opens conference play next weekend with a series at Malone University (5-2) on March 19-20. The teams play a doubleheader on both days.
Trevecca returns home for a non-conference with Lincoln Memorial University on March 23 and hosts Ohio Dominican University (8-1) March 25-26 for a four-game Great Midwest series.
