Box Score 2 NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (4-1) split a pair of games with Davenport University (4-5). Trevecca took game one 4-2 and the Panthers won game two 12-0 at Jackson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GM1
Trevecca plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 lead. Trey Vanderpool hit a SAC fly to drive in Ethan Harrison for the first run. John O'Dwyer drove in Braden Odom on a ground out.
Trevecca added two more in the fifth. Braden Odom drove in Jordan Jackson on a SAC fly before O'Dwyer drove in another run on a SAC fly, scoring Ethan Harrison.
Davenport scored a run in the seventh and eighth, cutting the Trojans lead in half.
GM2
Davenport took control early with an eight run second and added four more, two each in the fifth and sixth innings. The Panthers collected 16 hits along the way and benefitted from two Trojan fielding errors.
STATS REPORT
GM1
Drew Pierce (2-0) pitched 6.1 innings, allowing four hits and a run with a walk and five strikeouts. Jay Benard picked up his second save going the final 1.2 innings, allowing two hits with one strikeout.
Ethan Harrison paced the offense going 2-3 with two runs scored, a double, two stolen bases, and an RBI.
Braden Odom went 1-3 with a triple, run scored, and an RBI.
GM2
James Rogers (2-1) got the win for the Panthers on the mound. Rogers went five innings allowing four hits, four walks, and no runs while striking out three Trojans. Alex Clouthier (0-1) started and took the loss for the Trojans.
The Trojan offense was checked for the first time this season, producing four hits and were shutout for the first time.
WHAT'S NEXT
The two schools look to play a single nine-inning game on Saturday at 2 PM.
Trevecca opens conference play next weekend with a series at Malone University (5-2) on March 19-20. The teams play a double header both days.
Trevecca returns home for a non-conference with Lincoln Memorial University on March 23 and host Ohio Dominican University (8-1) March 25-26 for a four-game Great Midwest series.
