SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
With the Trojans' loss, the Screaming Eagles take a 6-3 lead in the all-time series. The series began in the 2015-16 campaign when the Trojans traveled to Evansville for the USI Classic.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One:
The Trojans scored a run in the top of the first when John Anderson singled down the right-field line to bring in Ethan Harrison. Trevecca led 3-0 after a two-run third inning saw Harrison score for the second time off a Dalton Mauldin single to right. John Anderson connected for a sac fly to plate Jordan Jackson. The Trojans made it a 4-0 lead heading to the bottom of the sixth after John O'Dwyer scored off a Braden Odom single to left. The Screaming Eagles matched the Trojans on the scoreboard in the home half of the sixth, though. A three-run triple and a sac fly both to centerfield tied it at 4-4. USI took a 5-4 lead into the ninth. Jordan Jackson grounded in Trey Vanderpool and Harrison touched home for the third time when Mauldin once again brought him in, this time on a sac fly in the ninth. The Screaming Eagles matched the Trojans with a two spot in the bottom of the ninth to win 7-6.
Game Two:
The offense was silent for both teams through the first half of game two. USI plated one in the bottom of the fifth when a two-out single scored the Screaming Eagles leadoff hitter. The Trojans answered with a run in the top of the sixth when Joseph McNamee brought in Chandler Miller to tie it at 1-1. USI then scored another in the seventh and twice in the eighth to win the game 4-1 and sweep the series.
