Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (3-4) lost the first of a three-game series 5-4 with the University of Southern Indiana (2-2) at USI Baseball Field on Friday.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
With the Trojans loss, Screaming Eagles take a 5-3 lead in the all-time series. The series began in the 2015-16 campaign when the Trojans traveled to Evansville for the USI Classic.
HOW IT HAPPENED
An Ethan Harrison single led off the game but was the only hit for either team in the first two frames. USI plated two runs in the third when the leadoff batter reached via a single and advancing to third on a pair of ground outs. A passed ball allowed the Eagles to score, then a two-out single to third gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead through three innings. The Trojans answered back with a run in the fourth. John O'Dwyer led the inning off with a hit by pitch and reached second on a groundout. A Braden Odom single brought in O'Dwyer and cut the deficit in half. The Trojans' only lead in the game came in the sixth. O'Dwyer (single) reached base for the second straight time to lead off the inning. Then, Jordan Jackson connected for his first home run as a Trojan to give Trevecca a 3-2 advantage. David Milam singled in the Trojans fourth run (Odom) in the ninth before the Screaming Eagles plated three in the bottom half to win 5-4.
PLAYER STATS REPORT
Braden Odom went 2-4 with an RBI and run scored. Jordan Jackson was 1-3 with a two-run home run and a walk. Chase Haley started and struck out four while allowing five hits over five innings. Chase Douglas came on for two innings of relief in which he struck out two and allowed no runs. Zeke Lecomte (1-2, BS) allowed three runs, two earned in the ninth.
WHATS NEXT
The three-game series with Southern Indiana concludes tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 1 PM.
The Trojans then return to Jackson Field for the Trojan Classic next weekend when they play Saginaw Valley State and Lewis University.
