LOUISVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer (0-2-0) fell 3-1 to Bellarmine University (2-0-0) at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium on Saturday.

THE SERIES

With today's result, Bellarmine levels the all-time series at 1-1 after the Trojans defeated the Knights 2-1 at the Trojan Soccer Complex last season.

THE MATCH

The Knight's tested starting Trojan goalkeeper, Andrew Bargh (JR/Bolton, England) early with a goal by Micah Linscott on their second shot of the match at 6:47 … though Bellarmine managed 10 more shots in the half, the result 1-0 would hold at the break … the Knights maintained their early pressure in the second half scoring at 46:33 when Greg Fischer beat Bargh off an assist by Linscott … Bellarmine extended its advantage to 3-0 with an unassisted goal by Tomas Bernedo at 55:47 … the Trojans managed just two shots in the second half, one being Michael Jones (JR/Freetown, Sierra Leone)' first goal of the season … Jones received a pass from Bryce-Austin Wahy (JR/Melbourne, Fla) at 84:30 to pull the Trojans within 3-1 the result which held for the match's final five minutes.

MAN OF THE MATCH

With the Trojans lone goal, Michael Jones takes the award. Last season, the sophomore scored two times off 11 shots from the midfield.

WHAT THE RESULT MEANS

*The loss leaves the Trojans at the bottom of the G-MAC table with Ohio Dominican.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Trojans return to the Trojan Soccer Complex for the season opener against Oakland City (1-2-0) on September 14 at 6 PM.

The Trojans and Mighty Oaks have played just one time before when the Trojans fell 3-0 in Oakland City, Indiana during the 2011 season. The loss ended Trevecca's season as it was the NCCAA Mid-East Regional semifinal.
