Trevecca entered the night having won two of the previous three meetings with the Screaming Eagles. USI now leads the all-time series, 4-2, with one game remaining between the two squad's tomorrow afternoon.

The 16 inning result was the longest in Trojan history since the 2004-2005 season when the Trojans defeated Martin Methodist 5-4 in 15 innings on April 8.

Southern Indiana scored the first run off a sacrifice fly in the first inning … USI leadoff batter Krizan walked and stole second and third before scoring … Krizan's run would be matched by the Trojans in the fourth when Javier Lopez (SR/Lawrenceville, GA ) scored on John O'Dwyer (JR/Nashville, TN)'s sacrifice fly … an inning later the Trojans took a 2-1 one lead when Bryant Goolsby (FR/Carthage, TN) doubled to bring in Dalton Mauldin (JR/Lake City, FL) … 2-1 remained the score until the seventh when USI tied the game up off an RBI double from Hunter … after nine complete innings, the scored remained 2-2 … USI broke through in the 16th inning when Krizan hit the game's third sacrifice fly to score a run … USI won 3-2.
