THE SERIES

The Cavs own the last three matches in the series after the Trojans won the first meeting in 2016.

THE MATCH

Trevecca 1, Walsh 3

Trevecca led through most of the early part of the first set … in fact the Trojans did not trail until Walsh took a 14-13 lead, but TNU regained the lead and the teams bounced back and forth the rest of the way … Trevecca served at set point (24-23), but Walsh got the side out and scored three straight for the win … Trevecca opened a 11-4 lead in the second set and led for most of the set until Walsh rallied again … with the Trojans leading 19-13 Walsh tied the match at 23-23 with a 10-4 run, but the Trojans pulled ahead again and held on for the 26-24 win … Walsh roared out of the gate in set three and never allowed the Trojans to find their rhythm on their way to a 25-17 win … in the fourth the Trojans scored the first two points, but did not lead again though they found themselves tied four times … the last tie came at 13-13 and Trevecca did make a run, closing the gap to one (21-20) late, but again the veteran Cavs pushed through for the set and match win.

TOP PLAYER

Ellie Buffler produced 13 kills and a .216 attack percentage.

THE TEAM

The Trojans have been strong on serve this year, but had 17 service errors in tonight's match … Walsh had 14 service errors, but topped the Trojans with a 9-5 advantage in services aces.
