NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (1-0-1, 0-0-0 G-MAC) defeated Bellarmine University (1-1-0) 2-1 at Trevecca Soccer Complex on Saturday.

Travel issues by Bellarmine delayed the start of the match by 15 minutes, then another lightening delay paused the game for more than an hour.

SERIES HISTORY

Trevecca and Bellarmine had never played a match before tonight. Trevecca leads the all-time series, 1-0.

GAME DETAILS

The match was delayed for a lightning delay for the second consecutive game. Neither team managed to find the back of the net in the first period. Trevecca scored first when Nicolas Reinhard scored just three minutes into the second half (48:11) off a pass from Armando Molina. The goal was Reinhard's second of the season.

Nearly 10 minutes later, Armando Molina got his first collegiate goal by beating Bellarmine goalkeeper, Connor Range at 57:07. Bellarmine managed to avoid being shutout when Trevecca gifted the Knights an own-goal. Trevecca won the match 2-1.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Armando Molina earned an assist on the goal by Nicolas Reinhard and later scored the game winning goal at 57:07. The goal was Molina's first of his collegiate career.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Trojans begin their Great Midwest Athletic Conference play Thursday when they travel to Elkins, West Virginia to face Davis & Elkins at 4 PM. The Trojans then face Alderson Broaddus on Saturday at 6:30 PM.
