NASHVILLE - The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team split a pair of non-conference games, 7-17 and 9-8, with Truman State University at Jackson Field on Saturday. The four-game series ended split 2-2.

Sam Mang continued his hot bat on Saturday, combing to hit 6-14, six runs scored, a double, three HR, sacrifice, two walks, nine RBI over the four game series.

GAME CHRONICLE 

GM 1 –  Truman State opened the first frame with a five spot, using just two hits and a Trojan error … Trevecca plated a run in the bottom half of the first, but the Bulldogs put four across home in the fourth, two more in the fifth, and a single run in the top of the sixth for a 12-1 advantage

GM 2 – Trevecca scored four in the first and four in the second to lead 8-1, Trevecca added a run in the fifth for a 9-6 lead … Truman made it interesting with two in the seventh, but Tyler Burns closed out the Bulldogs in the seventh for his and the Trojans first save

GM 1 – Clayton Moran took the loss and dropped to 0-3 on the season … Michael Brown went 1-3 with a run scored, a double, and two walks … Tyler burns went 2-5 with a run scored, and an RBI

GM 2 – Sam Mang added a 2-4 game with two runs, three RBI, and a home run … Chandler Miller went 2-3 with two runs, three RBI, and a home run … Jake Roberson started and pitched three and two-thirds, but Tyler Koprowski got the win with two and a third innings pitched, he allowed three hits and two runs … Tyler Burns pitched the ninth for the save

GM 1 – Truman State pounded out 20 hits to score the 17 runs … Trevecca hit safely nine times, but issued nine walks to the Bulldogs to aid their attack … Trevecca helped the Bulldogs with three errors

GM 2 – Trevecca closed out the game with 10 hits while giving up eight … Truman left 13 men on base while the Trojans maximized their chances leaving just five
