NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (3-9, 0-3 G-MAC)  lost a Great Midwest Athletic Conference game in four sets (23-25, 20-25, 25-19, 14-25) to Walsh University (9-2, 3-0 G-MAC) on Saturday at Trojan Fieldhouse.

GAME CHRONICLE  

Trevecca 1, Walsh 3

In set one the Trojans jumped out to a 10-3 and led 17-12, Walsh proved worthy of  the challenge and used a 10-2 run to take a 22-19 lead. The Trojans tied it up a couple of times, but with the match tied 23-23, the Cavs scored twice for the win. Walsh dominated a great deal of set two, leading 21-11, but Trevecca used a 9-2 run to make it 23-20, but Walsh scored the last two again for the win. Set three was tight early. With Walsh leading 17-15, Trevecca turned the match in their favor with a 4-0 run to take the lead for good and closed out the set win with a 10-2 run. Trevecca opened set four with a 1-0 lead, but aside from an 8-8 tie, it was Walsh the rest of the way.

TOP TROJANS

Madison Clements (FR/Goshen, KY) led the way for the Trojans with a .381% hitting percentage while also adding a team high 10 kills … Clare Reinthaler led the team with 17 digs and Miranda Bingham (SR/Safford, AZ) had 20 assists … Six Trojans had at least three kills as the team combined for a total of 42

Trevecca hit .157% (42 K, 22 E, 127 TA) and led in blocks 10-8 and 5.5-4 in the team category … Walsh hit .275% (58, 20, 138) … Walsh hit .371% in the fourth and final set

WHAT'S NEXT 

Trevecca faces new conference foe University of Findlay (10-0, 3-0 G-MAC) at Trojan Fieldhouse on Friday, Sept. 22 at 1:00 PM. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in the NCAA era. The next day (Saturday Sept. 23) the last of the new conference foes, Hillsdale College, will be at Trojan Fieldhouse. Trevecca and Hillsdale will also be facing each other for the first time in the NCAA era with the game time set for 1:00 PM
