NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (3-8, 0-2 G-MAC) last a tight Great Midwest Athletic Conference match (16-25, 25-23, 25-22, 17-25, 13-15) to Malone University (6-4, 1-1 G-MAC) on Friday at the Trojan Fieldhouse.

Malone 3, Trevecca 2

In set one Trevecca cut an early Malone lead to just two (8-6), but Malone closed out the set with a 17-10 run. Trevecca took a 8-3 lead in the second set and led 12-8. A 11-5 Malone run put them up 19-17, but Trevecca countered and closed out the set win with an 8-4 run. Trevecca took set three after a 6-1 start. Malone tied the set at 20-20, but with the set tied 22-22, Trevecca score three straight for the win. Trevecca led 8-5 early in set four, but Malone pulled ahead 21-12 with a 13-7 run then won 25-17. Trevecca led 4-2 in the fifth, but Malone scored six straight to lead 8-2. Trevecca pulled ahead 12-10 with a 8-4 run. Malone closed the win out with a 5-1 run to the finish.

On Saturday Sept. 16 at 1:00 PM new conference foe Walsh University (8-2, 2-0 G-MAC) comes to Trojan Fieldhouse to take on Trevecca. Trevecca won the only meeting in history with Walsh last year at Trojan Fieldhouse in four sets.
