NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team took a three-game series with the University of Southern Indiana with a split of a Saturday double header at Jackson Field. Trevecca won the series opener on Friday.

GM 1: (W 6-3) - Nathan Kuester hit a two run homer for the Screaming Eagles in the top of the first, but the Trojans answered with a two-run shot from Griffin Ganick in the bottom of the frame for a 2-2 score through one … in the bottom of third Trevecca took a 3-2 lead with an RBI ground out from Bryson Shelton that scored Griffin Ganick … a sac fly scored a USI run in the fourth to tie the game at 3-3 … Ethan Hurt broke the tie for good with a double to left center that scored Patrick Reed and Tyler Burns for a 5-3 TNU lead, then the Trojans tacked on a run in the seventh when Michael Brown single to score Ethan Hurt

GM 2: (L 9-3) - The Screaming Eagles road on the wings of two home runs – Grant Malott, Nathan Kuester) to beat the Trojans and salvage the final game of the series … after falling behind 3-0, the Trojans scored twice in the bottom of the second, but the Screaming Eagles responded with a four-run third for a 7-2 lead … the visitors added two more in the scheduled seven-inning game and the Trojans added a run on a solo home run from Bryson Shelton in the seventh

GM 1: (W 6-3) - Jesse Peters (2-0) started going six innings with nine (9) strikeouts and allowed four hits and no walks while limiting the Screaming Eagles to three runs – one earned … in doing so his season earned run averaged dropped to 3.42 … Jon Newman picked up the save with 2.2 innings pitched, allowing one hit with two strikeouts … Five Trojans collected two hits with Ethan Harrison and Griffin Ganick each driving in two – Harrison had a double and also reached on a walk and a hit by pitch – Ganick hit a two-run homer and scored twice while reaching with a walk … Ethan Hurt had a double, a stolen base, and scored … Tyler Burns scored and connected for a double
