EVANSVILLE, Ind. - In day two of the Southern Indiana Invitational, the #20 Trevecca baseball team (6-5) started their Saturday giving Wayne State (1-3) their first win of the season, 2-6. After runs in the first and fourth for Wayne State and game-tying runs in the third and fifth for the Trojans, the Warriors took the lead with four runs in the seventh. 

The Trojans face host Southern Indiana again at 4pm Saturday night (audio/stats), looking to even the score after taking the loss on Friday night to close out their weekend of play. 

Wayne State plated the first run in the bottom of the first and after a scoreless second inning, Bryson Shelton (JR/Powell, TN) brough the action for TNU with an RBI single to drive in Micah Blount (SR/Birmingham, AL) who walked prior. Blount's run tied the game, 1-1, in the top of the third.

The Warriors edged the Trojans in the fourth with an RBI double from Rose but TNU tied it again in the top of the fifth. Tyler Tichenor (SR/Centertown, KY) doubled and stole third making it easy for Shelton to swing another single and bring Tichenor home. Three up, three down in the bottom of the fifth kept the score tied, 2-2, after five complete.

To settle the score, Wayne State brought their bats in the bottom of the seventh inning. Five hits from the Warriors brought in four runs to take the lead, 6-2, and hold the Trojans for the win. 

Tyler Tichenor hit 2-for-4 with one run while Bryson Shelton brought both runs home on his 2-for-4. Micah Blount plated one run after walking to first in his two plate appearances. 

Ivey Starling (SR/Brentwood, TN) (2-1) put in 6.1 innings of work with four strikeouts and one walk. He let six run on eleven hits before Christian Lohr (SO/Verona, KY) came in to finish the game 1.2 innings pitched, two strikeouts and letting one hit.
