GAME ONE RECAP
The Wolves shutout the Trojans after an extra-inning affair opened the series on Friday.

NC scored all they'd need with a two-run second. They added four in the fourth, two in the seventh and one in the eighth.

Newberry pounded out 14 hits with two errors. Trevecca managed four hits and had six errors. Both teams left a lot on the table with seven and 12 runners left on base respectively.

Ivey Starling (SR/Brentwood, TN) started and took the loss for Trevecca and is now 2-3 on the year. Starling allowed 10 hits and six runs – three earned and walked one with two strikeouts. Mike Delee started and pitched the win for Newberry and is now 6-0.

Tyler Tichenor (SR/Centertown, KY) is the only Trojan with more than one hit, going 2-4. Carter Wiseman (SO/Hendersonville, TN), with a double, had the Trojans only extra base hit.

GAME TWO RECAP
Newberry scored a run in the second for a 1-0 lead and it held until the Trojans broke through for two runs in the sixth. The Trojans held the Wolves in the sixth, but gave up two runs in the seventh and lost 3-2.

Ethan Harrison (FR/Erlanger, KY) led off the sixth with a single on a 1-2 count. Ryan Arington (JR/Cincinnati, OH) followed and drew a walk. Bryson Shelton (JR/Powell, TN) singled to drive in Harrison for the Trojans first run. Griffin Ganick (SO/Brentwood, TN) bunted and the Wolves got Ryan Arington at the plate, but Ganick moved to second and Shelton ended up at third. A balk scored Shelton to put the Trojans on top 2-1 after six.

Carter Wiseman was the only Trojans with more than one hit, going 2-3.

Trevecca had five hits and two errors while Newberry had seven hits and no errors. Newberry stranded nine and Trevecca left four on base.

The Trojans spoiled a strong start from John Bolton (JR/Nolensville, TN) who pitched 5.1 innings an allowed just five hits and one run – unearned – while striking out four and walking two.Â
