Men's Soccer | Raines Leads Trevecca Over Ky. Wesleyan

OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Trevecca men's soccer team (4-3-1, 1-1 G-MAC) picked up their first conference win of the year with a 3-0 win at Kentucky Wesleyan College (2-5-1, 0-2-0 G-MAC). Trevecca is now 3-0 all-time against the Panthers. This is the first time their meeting was considered a G-MAC conference battle.

Connor Inman started the scoring when he scored (2) with an assist from Matthew Dyer (1) in the 28th minute. Matt Raines (4) scored the second Trojan goal with an assist from Connor Inman (1) in the 53rd minute. Jeremiah Wright (2) scored the final goal with an assist from Tucker Archie (3) in the 69th minute.

Raines has team-leading nine points on the year while Wright and Inman are tied for second with five points each.  

Trevecca had 11 shots with three of those on goal.

Richie Reichenberger (1-1) stood tall in goal and provided the second shutout of the year for the Trojans. The senior had three saves and faced eight total shots from the Panthers. Braydon Brown has the other Trojan shutout in goal.

Next week the Trojans will hit the road for a pair of G-MAC battles against two teams the program has yet to face. First Trevecca will take on Alderson-Broaddus University (1-6, 0-0 G-MAC) in Philippi, W.Va. on Thursday at 4 PM. The Battlers have lost five in a row. Next Saturday Trevecca will visit Davis & Elkins College (3-3-1, 1-0 G-MAC) in Elkins, W.Va. at Noon. The Senators, the winners of three in a row, are sitting second the G-MAC standings just ahead of the Trojans.
