Lincoln Memorial powers past Trevecca, 4-0

Box Score

NASHVILLE – Lincoln Memorial University (6-2-1) used three 2nd-half goals to power past Trevecca Nazarene University (7-5-0, 1-1 G-MAC) Wednesday night at the TNU Soccer Complex in a non-conference men's soccer match.

The Rail Splitters got on the board in the 40th minute when Mackenzie Wilde sent a shot from the right box past Trojans goalkeeper Braydon Brown.

LMU's defense in the first half didn't allow a shot to Trevecca. After the first 45 minutes of play, the Rail Splitters out-shot the Trojans 13-0.

In the second half, Richie Reichenberger nearly tied the match with his one-timer in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, the shot deflected off the right post and was cleared by Lincoln Memorial.

Three minutes later, Jonathan Baskin's shot after an LMU foul was saved by goalie Marcel Barwanietz.

It would be the last shot on-goal for the Trojans.

Lincoln Memorial added to its lead in the 85th minute when Mario Pinto fired a shot from the left box into the back of the net.

The Rail Splitters would add two more goals from Calum Calder and Chris Nash to round out its scoring.

Barwanietz tallied one save for LMU while Brown recorded nine for TNU.

Lincoln Memoria out-shot Trevecca 22-2 and held 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Trojans return to the pitch Oct. 13 as they host Cedarville University in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference match at 7:00 p.m.
