CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's soccer team (5-6-2, 2-5-1 GSC) earned a crucial 2-0 road victory over Delta State University (1-9-2, 0-7-1 GSC) on Friday afternoon, keeping its postseason hopes alive with three matches remaining in the regular season.

With Friday's result, Trevecca improves to 1-0-1 all-time against the Statesmen.
THE MATCH
The Trojans struck early as
Judah Jones netted his first goal of the season in the 10th minute. Trevecca's defense held firm for much of the match before
Jack Franklin added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute, assisted by
Callum Geoghegan, to secure the shutout win. Franklin scored his first goal of the season. Geoghegan picked up his second assist, tying him for the team lead.
Trevecca out shot Delta State 15–11 overall (5–2 on target) and held a 9–1 advantage in corner kicks.
Hunter Walker, freshman, recorded two saves to earn the clean sheet, his second in a row and fourth of the season. He lowered his season goals against average to 1.54.

The Trojans stay on the road to face Mississippi College (8-1-4, 6-0-2 GSC) this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Clinton, Mississippi.
PLAYOFF PICTURE
The Trojans are now tied for eighth in the league with seven points. The Union Bulldogs also have seven points. Union and Trevecca are one point ahead of Spring Hill who has six points in tenth place. The top eight teams advance to the postseason. Trevecca plays at second place Mississippi College (8-1-4, 6-0-2 GSC) on Sunday at 3:30 PM. The Trojans host Christian Brothers University (8-2-2, 5-0-2 GSC) on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 PM and Union University (3-5-4, 2-4-1 GSC) on Sunday Nov. 2 at 4:30 PM.
