Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca (20-10, 1-2 TranSouth) took out the Lions of Bryan College (13-20) 18-8 on Tuesday afternoon at Jackson Field.
Bryan College opened the game with back-to-back solo home runs, then the Trojans scored 11 runs in the third and fourth innings combined. TNU struck for five in the third and six in the fourth for a 11-2 lead. Trevecca added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings and led 13-2 after six. Bryan erupeted for six runs in the top of the seventh to make it a 13-8 game. Trevecca rallied with five in the seventh to force the 10-run rule into effect.
Mark Hewitt ended the game with a three-run home run.
Hewitt was 1-2 with a run scored, a three-run home run, and three RBI.
Edwin Borbon was 3-5 with two runs scored, three RBI, a walk, a stolen base, and a double.
Trae Weiss was 2-5 with two runs scored, two RBI, and two doubles.
Trey Morrison was 2-3 with three runs scored, a walk, an RBI, and two stolen bases. ÂÂ
Blake Payton (3-1) picked up the win with six innings of work. Payton allowed three hits, two runs, and struck out three. Tyler Vakey (0-1) picked up the loss. He was one of six hurlers on the day for the Lions. Trevecca had 18 hits, left 10 men on base, and had one error. Bryan had eight hits and two errors.
Trevecca will visit Georgetown College (14-15) on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
