Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Trevecca (15-7) defeated Ohio Domincan (3-13) 10-5 in the first of a three-game series on Friday. The Trojans have won 13 of their last 15 games.
Trevecca scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and pushed the lead to 7-0 with two more runs in the bottom of the third. Ohio Dominican scored three in the sixth, but Trevecca scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 8-3. The Panthers scored their final two in the seventh and Trevecca answered with two in the eighth for the 10-5 final.
Chad Reynolds led TNU with a 2-4 day at the plate and added a run, four RBI, a double, and a home run.
Trey Morrison was 3-4 with three runs scored, three RBI, a walk, and a home run.
Matt Tidwell was 3-5 with an RBI, and two doubles.
Trae Weiss was 3-4 wtih two runs scored and a stolen base.
Tim Dunn (4-2) pitched 6.2 innings allowing 13 hits, five runs, a walk and struck out four.
Caleb Longshore pitched 1.1 innings of perfect ball and
Jerry Young closed the game with an inning of work. Andy Onak (0-2) took the loss for the Panthers.
Trevecca had 15 hits and no errors while Ohio Dominican had 14 hits and two errors.
The teams will square off for two 7-inning games on Saturday beginning at Noon.
Trevecca will hit the road all of next week. The Trojans will visit No. 5 Lee University (20-6) on Tuesday for a double-header starting at 3 p.m. Trevecca will start the conference season with a weekend series at Bethel University (17-1-1) with a 2 p.m. game on Friday.ÂÂ
