NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (12-13, 8-13 GSC) opened the 2026 season with momentum, winning its first four games at the Trojans Music City Invitational in Smyrna. Three of those victories came by run rule, as Trevecca outscored opponents 45-6 across the four-game stretch with wins of 10-1, 15-0, 14-3 and 6-2.
Gulf South Conference play slowed that early pace, with the next four wins coming over a 14-game span as the schedule turned up.
The Trojans appear to have turned a corner, winning four of their last seven games. Each of the three losses during that stretch came by one run, a key indicator Team 35 is beginning to heat up as it heads into the final regular season stretch, aiming to improve its postseason positioning.
Following the GSC opening series sweep at the hands of nationally ranked Auburn Montgomery, the Trojans have taken at least one game in every series since, including against conference-leading and nationally ranked Montevallo. Trevecca also took a game from nationally ranked West Florida and West Alabama.
The recent results have positioned the Trojans in postseason contention with 12 games remaining in the regular season. Nine of those contests are scheduled on the Hill at the Trevecca Softball Complex, providing a favorable stretch run.
Picked eighth in the GSC Preseason Coaches' Poll, Trevecca currently holds that position in the standings, with an opportunity to climb over the final 12 games.
There have been plenty of positives beyond the record as the team has developed throughout the season. Trevecca owns wins over nationally ranked Montevallo and West Florida and has combined to earn four weekly conference honors.
With improved play and a home-heavy schedule ahead, Trevecca enters the final portion of the regular season with a clear opportunity to strengthen its postseason position.
With nine of the final 12 games on the Hill, the opportunity is there, and so is the need for support. Trevecca looks to build momentum at home, and the Purple and White faithful can play a role in that push. Fans are encouraged to come out to the Trevecca Softball Complex and support Team 35 as it looks to climb the standings and strengthen its postseason position.

Bailey Goad, who is less than a year removed from completing her record-setting career at Donelson Christian Academy, has put up impressive numbers for any pitcher and hitter, but even more so, doing it both in the circle and at the plate as a freshman makes it stand out even more.
