NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball freshman Bailey Goad has been named the Gulf South Conference Athletic Solutions Freshman of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 13, 2026.
Goad, a freshman from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, continued her impact in both the circle and at the plate, helping Trevecca Nazarene University position itself in the race to secure one of the eight Gulf South Conference Tournament berths.
On the week, Goad worked 14.1 innings with a 1.47 ERA in the circle while earning two wins with two complete games. She added eight strikeouts with just four walks and reached 10 wins in her freshman season. The Donelson Christian Academy product ranks among the top five in multiple Gulf South Conference pitching categories in league play.
At the plate, Goad hit .440 for the week, her second consecutive week batting above .400. She scored five runs, added a home run and a stolen base, and posted a .545 on-base percentage with a .778 slugging percentage.
Her performance helped Trevecca secure its first series sweep of the season. The Trojans have won four straight games and are 7-3 over their last 10, moving into position to contend for a Gulf South Conference Tournament spot. Trevecca (15-13, 11-13 GSC) is currently tied for seventh in the league standings with Valdosta State, with the top eight teams advancing to the postseason.
Goad becomes a two-time Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week honoree this season, joining Annalise Mecklenburg as Trevecca representatives on the weekly awards list.
Trevecca travels to the University of Alabama Huntsville (30-15, 14-10 GSC), currently sixth in the standings, for a three-game series beginning Friday at 3:00 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 1:00 p.m.
The Trojans return home for their final two series, hosting Lee University (15-29, 8-16 GSC), currently ninth and just outside the postseason cut line, April 24-25. Trevecca closes the regular season against Auburn Montgomery (34-7, 17-7 GSC), ranked nationally and second in the conference standings, beginning Friday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m. with game two to follow. The series finale is set for Saturday, May 2, which also serves as graduation day, with start time to be determined.
