NOTES ON THE 2026 MCI FIELD

Ashland University was picked sixth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference preseason poll. The Eagles return three all-conference performers from last season after finishing 23-23 overall and 13-11 in G-MAC league play.

 

The University of Indianapolis, the defending Great Lakes Valley Conference champion, is the league's preseason favorite. The Hounds went 42-23 overall and 16-12 in conference play last season. They won the GLVC Tournament and the NCAA Midwest Regional before falling in the Midwest Super Regional. Indianapolis is ranked No. 22 in the NFCA preseason poll.

 

Kentucky Wesleyan was picked 12th in the G-MAC preseason poll. The Panthers, longtime conference foes of the Trojans, finished 11-33 overall and 6-18 in league play last season.

 

Quincy University is looking to bounce back after a tough 2025 season. This is the fourth season for head coach Cathy Monroe. The Hawks finished 8-40 overall and 4-24 in GLVC play.

 

Tiffin was picked to win the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 2026. The Dragons finished 43-14 last season and reached the NCAA Midwest Regional.

 

Trevecca head coach Ben Tyree is entering his 18th season as the Trojans were picked eighth in the Gulf South Conference preseason poll. Brianna Asmondy, an all-conference performer a year ago, was named to the GSC Preseason All-Conference Team. Trevecca finished 28-19 overall last season and went 16-17 in its first year in the GSC.
