NASHVILLE - Trevecca Nazarene University softball player Shay Hollingworth is the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Softball Player of the week, for the week ending, Sunday, February 9, 2026.
Hollingsworth, a native of Huron, Tenn., batted .769 (10-for-13) in the Trojans four opening week games at the 2026 Music City Invitational. The Trojans host the event in Smyrna at the Cedar Stone Park. Over the four games, the 5-foot-six sophomore produced four doubles, one triple, eight runs scored and seven RBI
The second baseman collected three hits with a triple and three runs scored in the season opening game on Friday against Ashland University and added two hits with a double in the second contest with the Eagles.
The Lexington (TN) High School product kept pace on Saturday, starting with a 3-for-3 game with three runs scored and three RBI in the day's first game versus Kentucky Wesleyan. In game two on Saturday, she registered two hits and two RBI against Tiffin University.
Trevecca hosts their first Gulf South games of the year on Saturday, Feb. 21 when Valdosta State visits at 1 PM with a game two start time slated for 3 PM. The series concludes on Sunday with a single game at 1:00 PM.
