NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (27-17, 16-17 GSC) makes its Gulf South Conference (GSC) postseason debut after completing its first regular season as a conference member. The 2025 GSC Championship takes place at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala., featuring an eight-team, double-elimination tournament scheduled for April 30–May 3.
Trevecca secured the #8 seed and face top-seeded No. 6 (NFCA) Auburn Montgomery (34-10, 25-8 GSC) Wednesday, April 30 at 6:00 PM in the opening round.
SERIES HISTORY / NOTES
Trevecca opened its GSC era with a three-game series at Auburn Montgomery earlier this season, with the Warhawks winning all three games (5-1, 8-0, 2-0). Those remain the only meetings between the two programs, giving AUM a 3-0 lead in the all-time series.
All three contests were played at AUM's home field in Montgomery, Alabama. This season, Trevecca holds a 9-12 record in road games but remains undefeated at neutral sites with a 9-0 mark, as the Trojans swept both the Music City Invitational and The Charger Chillout earlier this season.
SEASON NOTES
The Trojans were ranked No. 17 to start the season in the NFCA Division II Poll and rose to No. 9 after a strong start to the season.
The team started the season 9-0 and moved into the NFCA Division II Top 10 with wins over No. 3 UIndy, McKendree, Young Harris, and Lincoln Memorial.
After No. 2 AUM took out the Trojans in the first GSC series for the Trojans, Trevecca took two of three at Valdosta State. A series that saw Brianna Asmondy hit five home runs and earn the NFCA Player of the Week.
The Trojans surged winning seven of eight late in the conference season taking five of six on the road at West Alabama and Delta State. They two of three at UWA and sweeping DSU on the road.
Trevecca enters the Gulf South Conference Championship leading the GSC in fielding percentage (.971) and has allowed the fewest passed balls (1) and hit batters (15) this season. The Trojans' pitching staff has issued the fewest walks (77) and ranks second in fewest at-bats allowed (1170).
Brianna Asmondy enters the Gulf South Conference Championships ranked third in the league in slugging percentage (.708) and OPS (1.128), while also ranking third in home runs (12) and ninth in runs batted in (34).
Annabelle Ellis ranks among the conference leaders in doubles, tied for 9th with 10.
In the circle, Ashlan Sensing ranks third in the GSC in ERA (1.68), wins (20), complete games (22), innings pitched (191.2), and opponent batting average (.198).

POST SEASON HISTORY
Trevecca owns six regular season Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships. The Trojans won the first four regular-season titles and postseason championships. Then a fifth regular season title in 2021 and a sixth in 2024.
Last season, their last in the Gulf South, Trevecca made it all the way to the Midwest Super Regionals, after the Trojans won the Program's First-Ever Midwest Regional.
ALL-TIME TREVECCA NOTES
Trevecca has secured its 25th consecutive winning season (.614), a streak that began with the 2000-01 campaign. The program's first winning season came in its inaugural year (1991-92) with a 22-20 record, but it wasn't until 2000-01 that the Trojans began their ongoing tradition of consistent success, which continues through the 2023-24 season.
This is the thirteenth season for Trevecca with an NCAA Division II schedule.
