NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (17-24, 12-15 GSC) played its next to last non-conference game against Lane College (11-25, 11-15 SIAC), at Jackson Field on Tuesday afternoon.
The Trojans beat the Dragons, 19-5 in seven innings.
SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
Trevecca claims a 2-0 all-time series advantage with the win. Lane and Trevecca met for the first time in school history on February 4. The Trojans took their home opener, 14-3, finishing the game in seven innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Brady Maciak started the season-high 19 run outing with a home run down the right field line in the bottom of the first. The Dragons answered with three runs on three straight plays in the top of the second. A single followed by a fielder's choice and a throwing error made it 3-2, Lane. The Trojans put the game out of reach in the bottom half of the second. Trevecca put a 10-spot up highlighted by a
Brett Dingess three-run homer and a
Cole McCallum solo shot. The Trojans plated 10 with 10 hits in the frame.
Trevecca added three more runs in both the third and fourth innings before
Jacob Lester closed the day with an RBI double to right center field in the bottom of the sixth, making it 19-5 Trojans.
