Box Score CLINTON, Miss. – The Trevecca Nazarene University softball team (18-11, 7-11 GSC) closed out its three-game weekend series with a 2-4 loss at Mississippi College (24-8, 14-4 GSC).

With the series sweep, the Trojans now trail the Choctaws 0-4 in the all-time series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
TNU 3, MC 4
Mississippi College got on the board first in the second inning. With one out, Brookelyn Cannon ripped a single to center, scoring Bella Myers and Ashley Lightcap for a 2-0 Choctaw lead.
Trevecca answered in the fifth. Parker Herrin tied the game with a two-run single to left, bringing home Reagan Locke and Callie Williams. Moments later, Ashlan Sensing doubled to center, scoring Cadence Jarrett to give the Trojans a 3-2 lead.
The Choctaws responded quickly in the sixth. Lightcap tied the game with an RBI double to left center, scoring Bella Myers. Cannon followed with her second RBI hit of the day, singling to the catcher to bring Lightcap home for the go-ahead run.
Trevecca couldn't mount a comeback in the final frame, falling just short despite outhitting the Choctaws 6-5 and committing no errors.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES
- Ashlan Sensing (L, 13-6) played the entire game, allowing four earned runs on nine hits with four strikeouts in six innings.
- Parker Herrin had a 2-RBI single and finished 1-for-1 at the plate.
- Ashlan Sensing also contributed at the plate, going 1-for-3 with an RBI double.
- Annabelle Ellis had a team-high two hits, going 2-for-4.
NEXT ON THE DIAMOND
Trevecca returns to Nashville next week to host Christian Brothers (11-18, 3-13 GSC) starting Friday at 3:00 p.m.
