NASHVILLE - Trevecca Nazarene University senior pitcher Ashlan Sensing is this week's Tennessee Sports Writers Association College Softball Pitcher of the Week, as honored by the TSWA on Tuesday.
Sensing, who also was named the Gulf South Pitcher of the Week, didn't give up an earned run on the week and pitched a gem in the series finale with Union.
Sensing, who leads all NCAA Division II active pitchers in career wins, strikeouts, complete games, and shutouts – also recently became the school's all-time leader in strikeouts and shutouts.
Sensing went the distance against Union as she threw seven scoreless innings, holding them to just two hits. The Dickson, Tenn., native struck out seven in the victory as she improved to 12-4 on the season.
Sensing and the Trojans are hosting former conference rival Kentucky Wesleyan today at 2 PM.
