NASHVILLE – Two Trevecca Nazarene University Trojan baseball players are featured as the Gulf South Conference Player and Freshman of the Week for the week ending, Sunday, March 16, 2025. Joey Parliment is the Gulf South Player of the Week and Wyatt Bowling is the Freshman of the Week. 

Wyatt Bowling / OF / FR / Lebanon HS / Lebanon, TN

The 6-3 freshman who played for the nearby Lebanon Blue Devils hit .462 on the week. He had started just one game previously but started all three games in the series with Union, capping the weekend going 4-6 in the series finale. He had a sac hit and laid down a perfect squeeze play to score a crucial run.  

He added his first extra base hits. A double and a triple. 

In the series finale, he bunted safely in the bottom of the eleventh to move what would be the winning run into scoring position. 

Joey Parliment / 2B / SR / Gordonsville HS / Columbia State / Gordonsville, TN

Parliment produced another outstanding week in a career full of outstanding weeks hitting .643 on the week with three (3) home runs, eight (8) RBI, and scored six times. His nine (9) hits included a walk off single in the bottom of the eleventh inning in game three of the Union series, securing the win and the series victory over the Bulldogs. 

He also played perfect defensively at second base with multiple baseball savvy plays not found in the stats program. 

His slugging percentage on the week hit 1.286% and his on base percentage was .667.
