NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (6-10, 4-5 GSC) finished up its first ever Gulf South Conference home series at Jackson Field on Saturday afternoon.
Montevallo (10-8, 5-4 GSC) took down the Trojans 7-6 in Saturday's opener and then Trevecca rallied for a 7-4 win the series finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE – UM 7, TNU 6
After the Falcons were retired quickly by Trojan starter
Jonah Smithson, his offense added two runs to his support in the bottom of the first.
Joey Parliment scored first off of a wild pitch before a
Cole McCallum doubled in a run. A two-run scoring double by Montevallo tied things in the second. Neither team produced much hitting in the third and fourth before the Falcons added a single run in the fifth. The visitors tacked on three runs in the sixth, all off singles to all three different parts of the outfield.
Joey Parliment cut the deficit down to two in the seventh with a blast to center field. Montevallo got one run back off a single in the eighth, what would become the game winning run as the Trojans rally came up just short. Parliment singled in a run in the eighth and
Cade Moore grounded in a run in the ninth, but the Trojans fell 7-6.

Joey Parliment went 3-4 with three RBIs and two runs score and a walk.

Cole McCallum was 2-4 with an RBI and a walk.

Jonah Smithson (1-3) started and took the loss. He struck out four over 5.0 innings of work in which he allowed three earned runs and seven hits.
GAME TWO – TNU 7, UM 4
The Trojans managed to claim the series with a strong outing in the finale. Montevallo scored in the top of the first off of a one out single to center field. Trevecca pounced on the Falcons for five runs in the bottom of the fifth and never looked back. The Falcons got a run in the third but the Trojans erased it with two of their own.
Brady Maciak's double to center scored two, making it 7-2 Trevecca. A pair of singles in the sixth made it a 7-4 game, but the Trojans relied on
Nick Judd to close things in the seventh for the 7-4 victory.

Dawson Sweeney (1-1) started and picked up his first win of the season. He struck out one over 2.1 innings of work in which he allowed just one earned runs and three hits.

The Trojans look for revenge in a midweek game at Jackson Field on Tuesday, March 4. Trevecca takes on Carson-Newman (14-4, 7-2 SAC) at 3:00 p.m. for a single game.
The Eagles took the first game 3-1 in Jefferson City, Tennessee on February 8. CNU holds a 5-3 all-time series advantage.
