NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University softball pitcher Ashlan Sensing, a senior from Dickson, Tenn., is the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week, the first award in 2025.
Sensing and the No. 17 (NFCA) Trojans had a big opening week, going 4-0 in the Music City Invitational at the Cedar Stone Park in Smyrna, Tenn.
Sensing was sensational going 3-0 with a .39 ERA over three appearances, two (2) complete game starts.
The senior struck out 18 opposing batters over 18 innings of work in the circle – allowing one (1) earned run and two (2) walks. Sensing faced just five (5) batters over the minimum across her three appearances. Opponents hit .102 against Sensing – managing only six (6) hits.
Against No. 3 UIndy, Sensing pitched the final three (3) innings of the ten (10) inning game to get the win. She retired three (3) Greyhounds on strikes and allowed only two (2) hits, and a walk with no earned runs.
In her two starts, first against UMSL, she pitched a 7.0 inning complete game allowing only one (1) earned run, two (2) hits, and one (1) walk while striking out eight (8) Tritons.
Against Illinois Springfield, she pitched an 8.0 inning complete game allowing two (2) hits, one (1) unearned run, and one hit-by-pitch while sitting down seven (7) Prairie Starts on strikes.
The Trojans are playing six games over three days this weekend in the 2025 Chillout Classic hosted by Young Harris College at Sand Mountain Park in Albertville, Alabama.
On Friday, Trevecca plays Shorter University at 1:00 PM and Young Harris College at 3:30 PM. On Saturday, Trevecca plays Georgia Southwestern at 11:00 AM and Miles College at 4:00 PM. Sunday, the Trojans play Kentucky Wesleyan College at 11:00 AM and Lincoln Memorial University at 1:30 PM.
