VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (4-6, 2-2 GSC) began a three-game set with Valdosta State University at Billy Grant Field on Friday afternoon.
Trevecca lost to Valdosta State (3-8, 2-1 GSC) 6-2 to open a weekend of games in Georgia.

The Trojans and Blazers had never met before in baseball.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After the Trojans were retired fairly quickly in the first, VSU plated half of its runs in the bottom of the innings, with two outs. A two-run double and a single gave the hosts a 3-0 lead.
Trevecca led the second inning off with a single but had nothing else to show. A single to right field brought in another Blazer run. A solo shot in the third made it 5-0 VSU in the third. Trevecca got on the board in the fifth when

Luke Dymond hit a sacrifice fly to right field to make it 5-2. The Blazers received a sac fly in the sixth to finish the scoring for the game, 6-2. The final three innings only saw two Trevecca hits as the Trojans dropped the opening game of the series.
