NASHVILLE – Trevecca Nazarene University women's soccer is the recipient of the 2025 Gulf South Conference Fair Play Award, marking the program's first-ever honor and its first under head coach Matheus Mello in his debut season leading the Trojans. The recognition comes in Trevecca's second year as a member of the GSC.
The Trojans posted the league's cleanest disciplinary record, committing a conference-low 112 fouls across 16 matches. Trevecca was booked only nine times all season with a yellow card and finished without a single red card, leading all GSC women's programs in sportsmanship metrics. Lee and Valdosta State were also considered for the award.
The GSC Soccer Fair Play Award is presented annually to the team that best portrays sportsmanship over the course of a full season. The three conference teams to have accumulated the fewest total cards—yellow and red combined—were nominated for the award. GSC coaches voted for their respective top choice from the three-team pool but could not vote for their own team. The team that received the most votes earned the award.
On the men's side, Delta State was recognized with the Fair Play Award.
