NASHVILLE – For the first time in school history, Trevecca Nazarene University landed a selection on the Gulf South Conference's weekly volleyball awards with
Mackenzie O'Loughlin tabbed as the league's top player on Tuesday.
O'Loughlin, a senior from Delray Beach, Florida enjoyed a week in which she hit .423 and produced a 2.93 KPS mark. In 71 TA, she had only 11 attack errors.
The middle blocker helped the Trojans to a 2-2 week which included a pair of sweeps and a loss to nationally ranked Lynn University and tournament hosts Rollins College in five sets.
O'Loughlin was named to the All-Rollins Invitational Tournament team by recording three double digit kill matches in four games with 18 blocks, nine digs and three service aces.
The senior amassed 12 kills with six blocks in the defeat against Rollins and had eight kills with seven blocks and four digs in the sweep of Southern Connecticut State University.
For the season, O'Loughlin's .362 hitting percentage is second in the Gulf South while her 41 total blocks put her fourth in the league.
