Trevecca Volleyball | Trojans Sixth in GSC Preseason Poll, Titus Preseason All-GSC

BIRMINGHAM — The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team is picked sixth of 11 teams in the 2024 Gulf South Conference (GSC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. Additionally, Emma Titus is on the 2024 GSC Preseason All-Conference team.

This is the first season for Trevecca athletics in the GSC, after spending their first 11 years in NCAA Division II athletics, as a charter member of the then new Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

This is the fifth season for Emily Moore at the helm of the volleyball program at Trevecca. Moore spent one season as the associate head coach for Jayme Crowley prior to taking on the lead role in 2019.

West Florida is tabbed as the favorite in the 2024 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Preseason Coaches Poll.

The poll and preseason team are voted by GSC volleyball head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own team or student-athletes.

The West Florida Argonauts collected 99 total points and nine of the 11 first-place votes as they topped the GSC Preseason Poll for the 13th time in the last 15 years.

Alabama Huntsville, last season's tournament runner-up, is second with 90 points and one first-place vote. Valdosta State is third with 69 points. One-point back is Mississippi College, in fourth. The Choctaw's claimed the other first-place vote. Montevallo is fifth with 66 points, one spot ahead of the Trojans who gained 57 points.

GSC PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE
The 2024 GSC Preseason All-Conference Team features nine student-athletes from six schools, with seven who made last season's All-GSC postseason team.

Her season high for digs was 17, a mark she hit twice. Earned 478.0 points with 419 kills (.180%, added 291 digs, 62 blocks, 29 aces on the season.

West Florida led all teams with three preseason selections. Meanwhile, the 2024 Newcomer Watchlist features 20 names from eight schools.

The 2024 campaign marks the 43rd season of GSC volleyball and the debut of the Trevecca Trojans in the Gulf South Conference. Teams play a double-round robin conference schedule comprise of 20 matches over eight weeks.
