Trevecca Baseball | Six Trojans Selected With All Conference Honors

MASON, Ohio – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference unveiled its annual all-conference awards for the 2024 season on Wednesday afternoon and six Trojans made the all-conference teams in addition to Caleb Marks being selected as the Pitcher of the Year. 

Trevecca placed three on both the league's first and second teams All-Conference. 

Marks, the Great Midwest Pitcher of the Year, is joined on the first team All-Conference by Haven Mangrum and Joey Parliment

The Trojan outfield was rounded out on the second team as both Andru Becker and Cole McCallum were awarded a spot as well as freshman right hander, Spencer Wilkins. Wilkins is one of just three freshmen (including the league's Freshman of the Year) to collect an All-Conference selection.

CALEB MARKS 

Marks earned his first selection to the All-Conference first team and Pitcher of the Year honors by pitching a league-most 73.0 innings with an impressive 2.10 earned run average. The junior pitched seven innings or more in six of his 11 starts, meaning he was not only effective, but efficient as well. The right-hander punched out 11 batters on three different occasions while sitting down 10 on strikes once helping him to a league-high 86 strikeouts on the season. He finished the season 6-0 with opposing batters hitting just .227 off his arm with just one single wild pitch thrown all season. Marks had three complete games and one shutout with a WHIP of just 1.05. 

HAVEN MANGRUM 

The Trojan outfielder is a first team All-Conference member for hitting .380 on the season (76-200). His 76 hits lead the Great Midwest while his 54 runs scored ranks third. The senior finds his way to the plate often as his 200 at-bats is also a league-best. Mangrum drew 12 walks and stole 11 bags while playing in all 49 games this season. He had 12 doubles, a pair of triples, five home runs and 40 RBIs on the year. He slugged .535% with an on-base % of .439. 

JOEY PARLIMENT 

Parliment was named to the first team All-Conference for having the league's tenth best batting average of .370 (61-for-165). Parliment was near tops in the conference in slugging percentage (.679%), on-base percentage (.475%) and a north of 1.00, OPS of 1.15%. His 46 runs scored was seventh most in the league while his 58 RBIs were second-best. Parliment hit 13 doubles, a triple and smacked 12 home runs on the season. His patience at the plate rewarded him with 29 walks. 

ANDRU BECKER 

Becker was picked as a second team all-conference for holding a .431 batting average on the year. The senior has 53 hits in 123 at-bats with 12 doubles, a triple and two home runs. Becker collected 30 RBIs on the season with 15 walks and a slugging percentage of .593. The outfielder scored 47 runs which is tied for sixth-most in the league with an OPS of 1.11%. 

COLE MCCALLUM 

McCallum, also a second team all-conference member, finished the regular season with a .337 batting average (61-for-181). McCallum collected a league-best 59 RBIs on the season with 12 home runs and 15 doubles. His 15 doubles were third-most in the league as were his 12 home runs. The outfielder held a slugging percentage of .519% with an on-base percentage of .408%. The junior was also north of 1.00% in OPS with a 1.02% marking.  

SPENCER WILKINS 

Wilkins picks up second team All-Conference honors in his first season at Jackson Field by going 6-3 on the season over 12 starts with a 3.06 earned run average. Wilkins' ERA is third-lowest in the Great Midwest where he is also top-5 in innings pitched (70.2 – 4th), strikeouts (71 – 4th), wins (6 – 4th), and home runs allowed (1 – t-1st). Opponents hit just .261 off Wilkins who threw one complete game and held a WHIP of 1.39. Wilkins struck out eight batters in three different games with a season-high nine K's in the win over Thomas More.  

UP NEXT 

Trevecca takes on the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 4 seed this afternoon against No. 5 seed Walsh. Trevecca holds a total of four Great Midwest Tournament trophies, most recently accomplishing the feat in 2021.
