NASHVILLE - Trevecca Nazarene University baseball players Caleb Marks and Joey Parliment added to their postseason awards collection with selection to the 2024 D2CCA Baseball All-American teams.

 

Caleb Marks, the 2024 D2CCA Midwest Pitcher of the Year, is on the D2CCA First Team, and Joey Parliment, a 2024 NCBWA All-American, made the D2CCA All-American Third Team.

 

Marks and Parliment contributed significantly to a highly successful 54th edition of Trevecca Baseball. The 2024 Trojans advanced to their second NCAA Division II Midwest Regional and concluded the season with a 33-23 record. They reached the regional with their fifth Great Midwest Championship, claiming the 2024 G-MAC Championship with four straight wins, just as they did in 2021.

It is the final Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio as the Trojans move to the Gulf South Conference in 2024-25.   

 

The D2CCA All-America Team is nominated for and voted on by athletic communications professionals across the NCAA Division II membership.

CALEB MARKS | 2024 NOTES

6-1 | JR | P | Murfreesboro, TN | Siegel HS

The Murfreesboro (Tenn.) native added to his resume after leading TNU with a perfect 8-0 record and a 2.25 earned run average on the mound in 2024. He collected four complete games, one shutout, and sat down 99 opposing batters on strikes over 88 innings pitched. He walked just 20 batters and opponents hit just .235 against him. Marks punched out 11 batters on three different occasions this season.

 

The Siegel Star finished with the seventh best earned run average in all of NCAA Division I baseball and ranked 12th in strikeouts and 16th in complete games for the year.

 

Marks led the league in ERA, batters struck out looking, and runs allowed. He finished second in strike outs, wins, and opponents' batting average. He complemented those rankings with finishing third in innings pitched and fourth in walks.

JOEY PARLIMENT | 2024 NOTES

5-7 | SR | 2B | Gordonsville, TN | Gordonsville HS | Columbia State

The trophy case for Parliment is getting crowded. The Columbia State transfer hit .369 in 2024 for the Purple and White with a 1.170 OPS. The Gordonsville Tiger alum used his 72 hits to score 55 runs and drive in 67 RBI. He charged a .473 on-base-percentage. His slugging percentage was .697. The Gordonsville (Tenn.) native hit 14 doubles, a triple, and 16 home runs.

 

Parliment led the Great Midwest in RBI and finished in the Top 10 for batting average and ranked third in homeruns, slugging percentage, and OPS. He ranked fifth in runs scored, seventh in on-base-percentage,
