Trevecca Baseball | ABCA / Rawlings Recognize Three Trojans as All-Region; Marks POY

NASHVILLE - Three Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans are on the 2024 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Rawlings All-Region Team. Caleb Marks is the Midwest Pitcher of the Year and on the All-Region First team along with Joey Parliment and Cole McCallum.

 

The trio helped guide Team 54 to the second NCAA Division II Midwest Regional appearance in program history and the fifth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship

 

The Trojans finished with a 33-23 overall record and a 20-12 mark in league play.

 

The #BlueCollarBoys went 4-0 in their final trip to the G-MAC Championships at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. The Trojans went 5-2 in postseason play.

 

Next season, Team 55 begins a new era for Trojan baseball in the Gulf South Conference.  
 

CALEB MARKS | 2024 NOTES

6-1 | JR | P | Murfreesboro, TN | Siegel HS

The Murfreesboro native led the team on the mound with a perfect 8-0 record and a 2.25 earned run average. He turned in four complete games, one shutout and had 99 strikeouts over his 88 innings pitched. He walked just 20 batters and opponents hit just .235 against him. Marks punched out 11 batters on three different occasions this season.

 

The Siegel Star finished with the seventh best earned run average in all of NCAA Division I baseball and ranked 12th in strikeouts and 16th in complete games for the year.

 

Marks led the league in ERA, batters struck out looking, and runs allowed. He finished second in strike outs, wins, and opponents' batting average. He complemented those rankings with finishing third in innings pitched and fourth in walks.

JOEY PARLIMENT | 2024 NOTES

5-7 | SR | 2B | Gordonsville, TN | Gordonsville HS | Columbia State

The Columbia State standout hit .369 on the year with a 1.170 OPS. The Gordonsville native hit 14 doubles, a triple, and 16 home runs. The Gordonsville Tiger alum used his 72 hits to score 55 runs and drive in 67 RBI. He charged a .473 on-base-percentage. His slugging percentage was .697.

 

Parliment finished first in the Great Midwest in RBI as well as a Top 10 batting average and ranked third in home runs, slugging percentage, and OPS. He also ranked fifth in runs scored, seventh in on-base-percentage,

COLE MCCALLUM | 2024 NOTES

6-4 | JR | INF | Medina, TN | South Gibson Co. HS | Walters State

The Walters State transfer blasted 14 home runs on the season and drove in 67 runs while producing a .351 batting average. The former South Gibson County Hornet scored 50 runs with 17 doubles and added a .630 slugging percentage and a .410 on-base percentage.

 

He led the Great Midwest with 67 RBI, while producing the second most doubles, seventh most home runs, seventh best slugging percentage, eighth most hits, and produced the ninth best OPS.

The 2024 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-America teams will be announced on Friday, May 31. Only First Team All-Region selections are eligible for All-America honors.

 

The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 19. The ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams will be announced on Thursday, June 20.

 

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
