INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in the NCAA era, the Trevecca Nazarene University baseball team (32-21) is headed to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional. The Trojans first regional appearance was in 2021, the won the tournament, earning a ticket to the D2 College World Series in Cary, NC.
The Trojans are headed to Indianapolis where the University of Indianapolis baseball team is hosting the Midwest Region Site #2 portion of the regional.
Trevecca opens region play with the host Greyhounds on Thursday, May 16 at 10:00 AM at Greyhound Park.
The Greyhounds (35-18) are making their second consecutive trip to the region round. The Hounds, the No. 2 seed, went 29-7 during the regular season in GLVC play, but went 1-2 in the GLVC Tournament
The Greyhounds, an at-large entry, are hosting all three conference tournament champions from the Midwest Region. They are - Maryville (37-17) the GLVC tournament champion, Grand Valley State, who knocked off region top seed Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC Championship. Trevecca Nazarene (32-21) won the Great Midwest postseason championship.
It is the 17th overall appearance for UIndy all-time. The Greyhounds are 27-32 in NCAA postseason play. The Hounds had a historic run last season, sweeping both the regional and super regional on route to their third regional crown in program history.
