OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team opened play at their final Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships on Monday at The Pearl Club.
Maddox Burton leads the Trojan effort with a team-low 149 through 36-holes on Monday. Burton added his fourth par-or-better round of the year.
The team shot 312-303=615.
The Trojans play the third round on Tuesday morning and look to move of the standings.

MADDOX BURTON
Burton collected two birdies in the first round and four in the second round for a total of six on day one.
He also added an eagle to his round.
The freshman standout shot three-under on the back nine of the second round.
Added his fourth par-or-better round with an even-par 72.
Burton shot even-par on the par three holes to tie for the best average (3.00) in the field.
He was also effective on the par five holes, shooting three-under-par for the eighth best average (4.63) through two rounds.

ALEX HAMM
Hamm was the low Trojan in Monday's first round with a pair of birdies and 11 pars.
In the second round on Monday afternoon, he added a birdie and was one under on the back nine.
His 23 pars over the first 36 holes tied Hamm for twelfth in the field.
The sophomore shot even-par on the par three holes to tie for the best average (3.00) in the field.

WILLIAMS MOSER
Moser led the team with eight total birdies, three in Monday's opening round and five in the second round.
His eight birdies ties him for tenth in the field through two rounds.
His even-par 72 in the second round is his third par-or-better round of the year.

The 2024 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships (April 22-24) is the 11th for the conference and are being played at
The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky.
The championship features a 54-hole stroke play event, with 36 holes Monday and 18 on Tuesday morning. A final head-to-head medal match play is scheduled for Wednesday between the top two teams to determine a team champion.
A live stream of the championship is available on the Great Midwest Digital Network.
The top finishing individual golfer will be awarded the individual Medalist award.
The all-conference team consists of the top eight individual finishers and ties at the championship tournament and another eight golfers as determined by a vote of the league's coaches.

Trevecca owns seven of the first ten team conference titles. No other team has more than one. The University of Findlay, Tiffin University, and Ashland University each have one title. The Ashland Eagles are the defending champions.
