The General's Retreat course is one of two tracks at the
Hermitage Golf Course (
course tour) and is the original (1986) 18-hole course designed by architect Gary Roger Bair, who hosted numerous high-profile professional championships, including the wildly popular Sara Lee Classic of the LPGA from 1988-1999. The other course is the President's Reserve. The course has hosted many high-profile events like the LPGA Sara Lee Classic and The Vinny.
Now the home course for the Trevecca Trojans, The Hermitage served as the host for the very first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Golf Championships.
The course offers a beautiful setting along the Cumberland River and a variety of tee placements. The fairway grass is 419 Bermuda, with the greens using Mini Verde Bermuda.
