The Trojans and Lions had never met before today's season opener.
The game was played at the University of Alabama-Huntsville's home park, the first of just two neutral site games the Trojans will play this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trevecca started strong as they took an early 3-0 lead after scoring a run in the first and a pair of runs in the second. The Trojans blew the game open, however, in the fourth when they plated eight runs. Singles by

Andru Becker and Joey Parliament brought in runs while doubles by both
Jacob Lester and Cole McCallum brought in three more runs to give Trevecca a 9-0 lead.
Logan Harrell then belted his first career home run well beyond the wall in right centerfield to push Trevecca's lead to 11-0. The Trojans tacked on one more run in the fifth and starter
Jack Keele shut down the Lions to close his outing at five innings with just two hits allowed and a pair of strikeouts.
Emmanuel took advantage of the new Trojan arm in the sixth and scored four runs in the frame but that was all the home side could manage. Lester singled for the second time in the ninth to bring in
Haven Mangrum and McCallum doubled in Lester to round off the hot bats for the Trojans.

Haven Mangrum went 3-5 with a triple, home run, two RBIs and four runs scored.

Jacob Lester also went 3-5 and drove in three runs with a double and two runs.
· Cole McCallum was 2-5 with three RBIs on two doubles with a walk.

Jack Keele tossed five innings of scoreless ball and struck out two while allowing only two hits.
UP NEXT
The Trojans return to Nashville to kick off a nine-game homestand when Belmont Abbey College (2-1) visits Jackson Field on Friday, February 9 at 3:00 pm for a single game. The Trojans and Crusaders finish up the three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday with first pitch at 11:00 am. Trevecca has never beaten Belmont Abbey, losing 7-3 in the only game played at Jackson Field in the 2022 season.
