SERIES HISTORY/NOTES

The Trojans are 5-12 all-time against the Chargers, who dominated the series early on before they joined the Great Midwest in 2018. The Trojans have won four of the last 11, including splitting this season's double-header and a 2-0 win over the Chargers in the second game of last season's Great Midwest Championships.

The Trojans snapped an eight-game winning streak by the Panthers. Most of the games have been close, but ODU has found a way to victory each time. Four of those wins have come in the postseason. Trevecca owned a 10-3 mark in the first 13 meetings in the series. ODU joined the league in 2014, but the team met twice in 2006, both TNU wins.

HOW IT HAPPENED HILLSDALE:

Hillsdale struck first in the second inning of what was a low-scoring game. In the top of the third inning, the Trojans tied the game up at 1-1 when Jessie Brown reached home on a throwing error by Hillsdale. However, in the bottom of the fourth, Hillsdale retook the lead in the game's final run to go up 2-1.

Ashlan Sensing held Hillsdale to only two runs on three hits and struck out six batters in six innings that she pitched in. Meanwhile, the Trojans were held to a single run on three hits and could not rally back.

HOW IT HAPPENED OHIO DOMINICAN:

The Panthers started the game very strong as they tallied five runs in the opening inning and then added a sixth in the second inning.

The Trojans began to chip away at their early deficit by scoring a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings to cut it to 6-4. Kendall Andrews started things off with a triple to bring in Jessie Brown. Then Gracie Kirby hit an RBI single to bring in Andrews. In the fourth inning, Anna Bennett hit a two-RBI triple that scored Savannah Davis and Jessie Brown

In the sixth inning, the Trojans completed the comeback to tie the game up at 6-6 when Alex Skinner and Kendall Andrews scored on an error by the Panthers. After a scoreless seventh inning, the Trojans moved to take a 7-6 lead in the eighth inning when Alex Skinner hit a solo home run with two out. The Panthers could not match in the bottom of the eighth as the Trojans advanced.
