HOW IT HAPPENED

TREVECCA vs ASHLAND | Legacy Field

Trevecca plated a run in the bottom of the first, giving them a 1-0 lead. Bryant Goolsby singled in left, driving in Joey Parliment who had led off the inning with a double to left center.

Neither team could push a runner across the plate again until the Trojans added two runs in the bottom of the fifth. With one out in the bottom half of the inning, Joey Parliment walked and moved to third when Jacob Lester singled to right. A throwing error moved Lester to second. Frankie Carreras followed with a single that scored both men on base.

The score remained 3-0 in favor of Trevecca until the top of the eighth when Ashland scored three to tie the game 3-3. The Eagles scored their three runs on two hits, a walk, an error, and a fielder's choice.

The game went to extra innings and in the bottom of the tenth, David Milam pinch hit for Henry Mosley with two on and drove the pitch over the right field wall for a walk-off three-run home run. The home run also brought in Josh Griffin, who reached on a one-out double, and Shawn Wallwork, who was intentionally walked.

TREVECCA vs HILLSDALE | Prasco Park

Trevecca broke open a scoreless tie with a two-run third inning. Jacob Lester doubled to left and moved to third on an error while driving in Andru Becker. Frankie Carreras followed with a double to push Lester across home plate.

In the fourth, the Trojans scored again, the game's final run. It was Andru Becker again, hitting a sacrifice fly to left center, driving in Josh Griffin for a 3-0 Trojan lead.

That was all freshman Jonah Smithson (2-2) needed as he spun the ball for nine innings scattering hits and three walks while striking out three Chargers. But he didn't allow any runs and closed out the game, sending the Trojans to Friday's action. It is his career's first complete game, and his previous long outing was six innings in a start against Lake Erie College.
