The Trojans are 10-11 versus ODU, but the Panthers have won eight of the last twelve.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE REPORT:
Trevecca took the early 2-0 advantage in the first inning when Gracie Kirby hit a two-run home run that also scored Anna Bennett. Ohio Dominican responded with a single run in the third inning to cut the Trojan's lead in half.
After the top of the third, both teams went quiet as neither could muster hits leading to two scoreless innings. The Panthers sparked their offense in the sixth inning as they hit a two-run homer to take a 3-2 lead.
With their back against the wall and their opportunities to tie the game running low, Sarah Nicholson brought Jessie Brown home on a sac fly out to tie the game up at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
With the pressure now on them, the Panthers handled the Trojan's pressure and took a 6-3 lead on a three-run homer in the top of the seventh. The Trojans could not match, as they were held to only three hits in the game and couldn't respond.
GAME TWO REPORT:
The Trojans came out strong in game two as they tallied three runs in the first inning. Jessie Brown and Kendall Andrews broke the ice when they were brought home on a Carly Sperlich two-RBI single. Then Jaylah Edmondson scored off a Sarah Nicholson RBI single.
Ohio Dominican got going in the second as they scored five runs to take the lead. In the bottom of the second inning, the Trojans got a run back to make it 5-4 when Malone Thrift hit a solo home run. They would retake the lead with three runs in the third inning, starting with a Jaylah Edmondson two-run homer. Later in the inning, Carly Sperlich would score on a wild pitch to make it 7-5.
The Panthers responded with a three-run inning of their own in the fourth to gain an 8-7 lead. In the bottom of the fourth, Anna Bennett tied the game with a solo home run.
However, The Panthers got back to work and scored two runs in the fifth inning to go up 10-8. Then in the seventh inning, they scored an extra run to go up 11-8. The Trojans could not make a rally as they would fall 11-8.
