Box Score 2 CEDARVILLE, Ohio.- Trevecca Nazarene University baseball (19-14, 13-5 Great Midwest) opened their four-game series against Cedarville University (9-26, 4-14 Great Midwest), won in game one 12-2, then they won in game two of the series 8-1 (seven innings).

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
Trevecca is 39-6 in the all-time series with Cedarville. They split last year's season series 2-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
GAME ONE:
Cedarville broke the ice and scored first in the bottom of the first inning. Then the Trojans responded in the top of the second inning when David Milam reached home on a Jacob Lester sacrifice flyout to tie the game up at 1-1.
After a scoreless third inning, Cedarville took the lead back with a single run in the fourth inning to go up 2-1.
However, the Trojans took over in the top of the fifth inning as they scored five runs to take the lead and go up 6-2. Joey Parliment scored off a Josh Seiler sac fly. Then Cooper Whitt was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home Josh Griffin. Shawn Wallwork was brought in on a Bryant Goolsby RBI single to make it 4-2. Later in the inning, Jacob Lester hit a two-RBI single into left field to extend the lead to 6-2 to round out the fifth inning scoring.
In the seventh inning, the scoring continued for the Trojans. Josh Griffin hit a two-RBI single and was brought home on a wild pitch. Then in the eighth inning, Joey Parliment put the game away when he hit a two-RBI single to make it 12-2.
GAME TWO:
The Trojans scored first in game two when Josh Griffin scored on a Josh Seiler sac ground out to make it 1-0. They added to their total in the third inning with a single run when Joey Parliment reached home on a second Josh Seiler sac ground out to go up 2-0.
Cedarville got on the board with a single run in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the Trojan's lead in half.
However, the Trojans would not be deterred by this as their offense clicked in the fifth inning, and they tallied five runs to extend their lead to 7-1. Joey Parliment scored on a wild pitch, then Josh Seiler and Josh Griffin scored on a Bryant Goolsby two-RBI double to make it 5-1. Later in the inning, Bryant Goolsby and Shawn Wallwork reached home on a Jacob Lester two-RBI single.
Cooper Whitt put the game out of reach in the seventh inning when he scored on a Jacob Lester sac ground out to make it 8-1.

UP NEXT
The Trojans will return home for a single game against Lee University (21-17) on Tuesday at 4:00 PM. Lee University leads the all-time series 38-11 and has won all seven meetings since both teams moved to NCAA Division II play. Trevecca's last meeting with the Flames was a 9-8 win by Trevecca on April 12, 2022, at Jackson Field. The Flames lead the NCAA Era series 7-1.
After that, the Trojans will host a four-game series on Friday and Saturday against the University of Findlay (18-14, 9-7 Great Midwest). The series is tied 5-5 following last season's split, with the Trojans getting their first win in the series at Findlay last year.
