NASHVILLE: Trevecca Nazarene University baseball (8-10) wrapped up their four-game series against Hillsdale College (6-11) and won game one 10-3 (seven innings)., then lost game two 10-1. The games were moved to Trevecca due to weather conditions at Hillsdale.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
After taking six out of the last eight games, the Trojans lead the series against Hillsdale, 11-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
GAME ONE:
The Trojans had a hot start to the day's first game as they scored two runs in the opening inning. Josh Griffin hit a two-run home run that scored Andru Becker to give the Trojans the 2-0 lead early on. Hillsdale responded and got on the board with a single run in the bottom of the first. However, the Trojan bats kept rolling as they extended the Trojan's lead to 4-1. David Milam reached home on a Henry Mosley sac fly-out, then Garrett Smith scored on a Joey Parliment RBI single. Hillsdale tallied another run in the third inning to cut it to 4-2. Both teams' bats went quiet for a few innings before the Trojans got hot again. The Trojans extended their lead by six in the sixth inning. Shawn Wallwork scored off a David Milam RBI double, then Josh Seiler got home on a fielder's choice off a Henry Mosley hit. Then David Milam and Henry Mosley scored on an Andru Becker two-RBI single. Josh Griffin made it 10-2 when he hit a two-run home run that also brought in Andru Becker. In the seventh inning, Hillsdale mustered one run to try and make a comeback, but it wasn't enough.
GAME TWO:
Game two began slowly, as neither team could muster much offense for the first couple of innings. Then Hillsdale broke through in the third inning with five runs. As they built their lead, they added to that tally in the next three innings. Frankie Carreras hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to get the Trojans on the board, but Hillsdale's lead was too much to overcome as they went up 10-1 after six innings.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES GAME ONE:
- Josh Griffin went 3-4 with two home runs, four RBIs, and two runs scored.
- Andru Becker went 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
- Garrett Smith went 2-4 with two doubles and one run scored.
- Caleb Marks (2-1) allowed only three runs on eight hits while striking out five batters in seven innings pitched.

UP NEXT
The Trojans will go on the road for a single game against Carson-Newman University on Wednesday at 2:00 PM. The Trojans trail Carson-Newman 2-4 in the all-time series since 2014. Carson-Mewman won the previous meeting 15-5 on April 16, 2019. They will return home for a four-game series against Walsh University on Friday and Saturday.
