Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene University softball (4-4) traveled to take part in the Blue Bridge Classic, where they defeated Quincy (1-6) in their first game of the day, 5-0. Then fell in game two against Illinois-Springfield (6-4) by the score of 4-0.

SERIES HISTORY/NOTES
The Trojans are 2-0 against Quincy and took the other meeting against Quincy, an 11-0 win in five innings on February 26, 2022, also at the Blue Bridge Classic.
Illinois-Springfield is now 2-0 against the Trojans and took the only other meeting against the Trojans on February 15, 2019, in a 12-4 win in six innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE QUINCEY:
The pitching was stout for the Trojans in the first two innings, as Alex Behnke allowed only one hit. Then the Trojans broke through in the third inning when Kendall Andrews hit a two-RBI triple to bring in Alyssa Triner and Anna Bennett for scores. Then Andrews was brought home on a Sydney McCormick RBI single to give the Trojans a 3-0 lead. Then in the fourth, Sarah Nicholson scored off of an Alyssa Triner RBI single. In the seventh inning, Alyssa Triner scored on an RBI single by Anna Bennett to make it 5-0. Meanwhile, Trojan pitchers Alex Behnke and Rylee Veron locked in and did not allow any runs on only three hits as they shut down Quincey's hitters for the win.
GAME TWO ILLINOIS-SPRINGFIELD:
Both teams were quiet for the first three innings as neither team could capitalize on their hits. Then Illinois-Springfield broke through in the fourth inning. Then again, in the fifth inning, they tallied again to go up 2-0. Then in the seventh inning, Illinois-Springfield added two more runs. The Trojans could not get their offense going, as they would be shut out.
CIRCLE AND BOX NOTES- QUINCEY
- Kendall Andrews went 3-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and one run scored.
- Alyssa Triner went 1-1 with an RBI and two runs scored.
- Sarah Nicholson went 1-3 with a double and one run scored.
- Alex Behnke (3-1) did not allow a run on only three hits while striking out one batter in five innings pitched.

UP NEXT
The Trojans will continue the Blue Bridge Classic on Saturday, taking on the University of Indianapolis (8-2) at 10:00 AM and McKendree (4-2) at 12:00 PM. Indianapolis has won all three meetings against the Trojans, with the last meeting being an 11-0 loss in five innings on February 12, 2022. While the series is 1-1 against McKendree, who the Trojans defeated in the previous meeting, 10-9, during last season's Music City Invitational.
