Box Score NASHVILLE – The Trevecca Nazarene University volleyball team (11-6, 4-3 Great Midwest) defeated Kentucky Wesleyan College (2-13, 0-7 Great Midwest) in four sets (25-19, 25-18, 19-25, 25-16) on Tuesday in Trojan Fieldhouse.
THE SERIES
The Trojans won their fourth straight over the Panthers despite trailing the all-time series 19-13.
THE FLOW
The Trojans controlled the opening two points of the first set and never trailed from there. Leading 8-4, a 3-0 run capped by a service ace forced a Panthers timeout. Out of the timeout, the Panthers grabbed the next three points but fell short 25-19 in the first.
Trevecca secured a 3-0 lead before the second set was tied at 9-9. The Trojans produced the final four points of the set, highlighted by an Ellie Buffler kill, winning 25-18.
The third set was just the 11th of the season the Panthers won. The Trojans saw a 4-0 deficit turn into as much as a 7-1 hole before calling a timeout. The Panthers took the third, 25-19.
The final set of the match saw the Trojans take control at the 7-7 mark. A 7-0 run made it a 14-7 match and the Trojans did not look back from there.
THE NOTES
The Trojans collected a .143 hitting percentage more than doubling up the Panthers at .050. The Trojans produced 46 kills and smashed nine service aces. The sides were nearly even in blocks 12-10 in favor of the Trojans.

Ursuline College (2-12, 0-7 Great Midwest) and Lake Erie College (2-12, 0-7 Great Midwest) make the trip to Nashville on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 1:00 p.m., respectively.
